VOCAL TRAINING AND SINGING LESSONS

My training is based on 40 years experience of performing and vocal training including CABARET, OPERA, STANDARDS, JAZZ and other popular styles. The training is targeted at singers/vocalist of all types, including actors who have to sing.

Topics covered include supporting the voice, increasing power and resonance, extending the vocal range, diction and intonation, confidence building and performance skills.

In addition I cover vocal and bodily fitness with particular emphasis on muscular support and development, vocal strengthening and agility exercises.

Lessons are weekly or fortnightly. The objective is to maximise the vocal development of the student so that they can fulfil their dream to sing at their desired level of ability.

Priced at £32 per hour or £16 per half-hour.

VOCAL COACHING

My lessons include the following steps:

Develop repertoire.
Advice on song selection and key selection.
Advice on interpretation and diction.
Accompaniment provided piano or guitar.
Audition help for actors.
Backing tapes/CD’ provided for use while learning pieces.
Advice on intonation and vocal development.

Weekly or fortnightly lessons from £32 per hour.

AUDITION TIPS

These are my top five tips:

Actors should know between two and four songs including two ballads and two up-tempo numbers.
DO NOT LEARN A SONG FOR AN AUDITION.
Music for accompanists should be legible and in the right key.
Music with repeats should be laid out in full for the accompanist.
Regular practice and keeping the voice in shape means less panic when auditions occur.
